Community Involvement

The Fort Collins Branch of AAUW has a long tradition of community involvement.  A key focus of the branch has been the Poudre School District (PSD).  The branch was financially instrumental in the establishment of BASE Camp, a before and after school enrichment program.  AAUW Fort Collins participates in Make a Difference Day by reading to kindergarten students at Putnam Elementary School as well as donating a book to each kindergarten student.

AAUW Fort Collins has provided the Hands Are Not For Hurting Program to the following elementary schools in Poudre School District:  Barton, Eyestone at Wellington, Red Feather Lakes and Stove Prairie.

The branch builds relationships with groups serving youth and works by volunteering and providing financial support for community projects, such as Poudre School District STEM Programs.
